Baked apples
Baked apples are apples with the cores removed, packed with a dried fruit and cinnamon filling and baked in the oven. They are a simple, tasty dessert popular during the autumn and winter months and can be prepared in minutes.

2 Bramley apples (about 250g each) 40 g raisins 10 g muscovado sugar 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Mix the raisins, muscovado sugar and ground cinnamon.
Carefully remove the cores from the apples.
Make a horizontal cut the whole way around each apple using a sharp knife.
Place the prepared apples in an ovenproof bowl.
Pack the raisin, cinnamon and sugar mixture into the space where the cores have been removed.
Bake at 180°C, 350°F, gas mark 4 until cooked through (abut 20 to 30 minutes).
Serve hot.
