Easy falafel recipe (chick pea burgers)
Falafel are tasty meat free burgers made using common storecupboard ingredients. They are made using healthy ingredients and are easy and cheap to make.

1 onion 2 garlic cloves 400 g chick peas 2 handfuls fresh parsley 1.5 teaspoon chilli powder 1 teaspoon ground cumin 2 teaspoon flour plus extra for shaping 1 teaspoon baking powder 1 tablespoon olive oil
Roughly chop the onion and garlic and remove the stems from the parsley.
Drain the liquid from the chick peas, rinse and pat dry using kitchen paper.
Place the onion, garlic, parsley and chick peas in a food processor and blitz.
Transfer the chopped ingredients from the food processor to a large bowl.
Add the flour, baking powder, chilli, cumin and a little salt and pepper and mix well.
Form the mixture into 4 or 6 burger shapes by hand, adding a little extra flour if the mixture is sticky.
Cook the falafel in hot oil for a few minutes on either side.
