Homegrown vegetables are seasonal vegetables are at their best. They are fresh, haven't travelled far and you can be sure they haven't been treated with chemicals.
Your homegrown produce will add far more flavour to your meals and is perfect for adding to dishes such as quiche, risotto or soups.
Recipes using garden fruits
Apples, pears, rhubarb, plums, blackcurrants, gooseberries, raspberries and strawberries are common British garden fruits. They are at their best when enjoyed straight from the garden but some fruits such as blackcurrants, raspberries, gooseberries and rhubarb can also be frozen for you to use over the months ahead.

Recipes using greenhouse produce
Tomatoes, peppers and aubergines are popular greenhouse crops and can be enjoyed in a variety of ways.
You could make a rustic galette or enjoy the flavours of summer with some tomato and olive bruschetta.
Some crops such as courgettes and tomatoes can be very productive and result in a glut. Whether you have grown cherry tomatoes, plum tomatoes, beef tomatoes or any other type you may find yourself with lots to use all at once. Of course, you could share some with family and friends but if you still find yourself with a glut of tomatoes why not make a batch of tomato chutney or some hot tomato chutney to stock your pantry or to give as a homemade gift.
